Technology: XML-based Web Services
Web Services
Built on industry standards, Web services provide a means for software to interoperate across programming languages, platforms, and operating systems. They provide a structured way to format data, a way to handle transactions, and a standard means to describe what the service does and make the service available to others.
XML
Extensible Markup Language or XML provides a way to structure data. By using a standard way to tag information, XML provides the foundation on which Web services are built.
Wireless Sensor Newtork (WSN) Web Services by IntelliSensing
With WSN Web Services by IntelliSensing, measurement data can be connected to control and monitoring systems that are located on a computer network. By using the Web Services Description Language (WSDL), the measurement data produced by the sensor network is exposed to applications that access the WSDL of the Sensor Web Service.
