XML Web Services for Wireless Sensor Networks
Web Services
Built on industry standards, Web services provide a means for software to interoperate across programming languages, platforms, and operating systems. They provide a structured way to format data, a way to handle transactions, and a standard means to describe what the service does and make the service available to others.
XML
Extensible Markup Language or XML provides a way to structure data. By using a standard way to tag information, XML provides the foundation on which Web services are built.
IntelliSensing WSN Web Services
With IntelliSensing WSN Web Services, measurement data can be connected to control and monitoring systems that are located on a computer network. By using the Web Services Description Language (WSDL), the measurement data produced by the sensor network is exposed to applications that access the WSDL of the Sensor Web Service.
Sensor Web Services by IntelliSensing is hosted on the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 platform configured with Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. Technical information along with download instructions for the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 can be found at http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework.
